Because “cola” doesn’t tell the whole story.

“Is it Coca-Cola or Pepsi?”

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve asked that question at a restaurant.

I’m a little particular about my cola. Before visiting a place, I would sometimes zoom in on a menu tucked away in someone’s review photo, hoping to find out which one they served.

But more often than not, the menu said just one thing: “Cola.”

Asking felt a little awkward. I didn’t want to bother anyone over something so small. So sometimes I would take a chance and order without asking—only to find that the drink wasn’t the one I’d been looking forward to.

Of course, it wasn’t about one being better than the other. I’d simply had my heart set on a particular cola that day. Such a small thing, and yet it could take a little joy out of the moment.

It happened more than once.

Surely I wasn’t the only cola lover who felt this way.

So I decided to make a map that could answer the question before we ordered.

That thought led me to start learning to code, and to begin building COCAorPEPSI.

But I can’t fill this map on my own.

Your “They serve it here” could become someone else’s “Let’s go there.” I’d love to see the map grow, little by little—with red pins, blue pins, and tips about places serving cola in glass bottles.

No more zooming in on menu photos.

No more working up the courage to ask each time we order.

Just knowing where to go for the cola you love.

That’s the map I hope we can build together.
